About us

The Monument, one of the City of London’s most outstanding landmarks and visitor attractions, will close on 30 July for an 18-month programme of improvements and repairs.

This website is dedicated to the project, which is being funded by the City of London Corporation. From our internet site you will be able to view images and watch video clips of the work in progress and read about its fascinating history.

Harris Digital Productions is filming the project in High Definition and encoding video clips for the website using Flash version 8.

All of the images on the website have been taken by John Harris

The website is continuously being updated and over the coming months, we will be adding further information about the Monument, its history and the designers Sir Christopher Wren and Dr. Robert Hooke.

The Monument is scheduled to re-open to visitors when the restoration work is completed in January 2009.
