On the East elevation the top section of the pedestal has now been cleaned revealing the fine carving surrounding the oval window

The flaming orb and the newly repaired stone drum section of the Monument can now be seen clearly from the viewing platform level of scaffold

The flaming orb is now on show with the reinstated copper embellishments and new gold leaf gilding

A new threshold stone is obviously required to the viewing platform door.
This will be in black limestone.

Stonemason Ian Foss offers up a new rain water drainage pipe.
The pipe is hand made from code 8 sand cast lead with a traditional design cast iron grate.
The pipe will be fitted below the surface of the viewing platform and covered by the new black limestone.

The newly gilded orb can be seen clearly now that the top of the scaffold has been removed
