The Monument surrounded by fencing

One of the timber bollards being carefully removed to make way
for scaffolding access around the base of the column

Erecting site hoarding for the site perimeter

DPM (damp proof membrane) is being used as protection
under the hoarding and also for trackway road protection

The blue barrels are filled with water to be used as
Kentledge (ballast) against wind resistance for the hoarding

Site Manager, Gary Collings in what was the underground laboratory, shows evidence of soft Reigate Stone in the walls,
and also Tudor brickwork, York Stone and Portland Stone.
You can learn more about the underground laboratory and the use of
the Monument as a scientific instrument later this year.
