A new carved leaf & tongue stone is fitted and will then be trimmed in to suit the adjacent stones
The moulding to the top left hand corner of the viewing platform
door was badly eroded.
This picture shows the stone has been cut away and left
ready to receive a new stone.
The black limestone viewing platform is being re-honed by hand
A close up of some new gold leaf to the flaming orb, when completed the gilding will be burnished and this process will remove all of the tiny loose bits of gold leaf and leave a smooth surface.
