The extremely delicate gold leaf is carefully applied using a small brush

The gold leaf gilding is very carefully applied onto the prepared copper orb

Gold leaf being applied to the flaming orb. Note that hard hats are not being worn as it is sometimes necessary to get your head close to the work to ensure the leaf is adhered properly.

A slightly bigger brush with soft bristles is used to smooth out the freshly applied gold leaf

The front entrance floor is exposed after the concrete screed has been removed. This shows a mixture of materials such as Portland and Purbeck stone, granite cobbles and red brick.
