A stonemason puts the finishing touches to a new piece
of the leaf & tongue carving
Applying loose leaf gilding
The gilders carry out the final burnishing using cotton wool & warm water
The gilding is skewed off using a very soft badger hair brush
Stonemasons install a large new stone on the fluted shaft
